Redningsmændene rykkede ud 374 gange

I 2007 blev mandskaberne fra de 21 redningsstationer kaldt ud 374 gange. 122 redningsaktioner havde med fritidsbåde at gøre, 101 redningsaktioner handlede om forsvundne personer, og så var der 69 redning i forbindelse med fiskefartøjer.

Året rundt, døgnet rundt er de cirka 200 redningsmænd i Farvandsvæsenets kystredningstjeneste klar til at hjælpe nødstedte på havet. Og redningsmændene havde travlt sidste år. 374 gange var der bud efter redningsmændene, hvoraf de 160 er frivillige. Sidste år var der 379 alarmer.

Redningsstationerne reagerer hurtigt på alarmer. Der er et krav til reaktionstid, som lyder, at "den bedst egnede enhed" skal afgå senest 20 minutter efter, at alarmen er modtaget. I 2007 var den gennemsnitlige reaktionstid helt nede på ni minutter. I ingen tilfælde var reaktionstiden længere end kravet på 20 minutter.
