Container-fusion en fordel for Maersk Line

En fusion mellem de to containerrederier NOL og Hapag-Lloyd kan på kort sigt være en fordel for verdens største containerrederi - Maersk Line. Det vurderer en aktieanalytiker fra Kaupthing Bank.

Rygter om fusionsforhandlinger mellem det tyske containerrederi Hapag-Lloyd og Neptune Orient Lines fra Singapore tager fortsat til.

En fusion vil i givet fald skabe verdens tredjestørste containerrederi. Et rederi der vil være stort nok til at give Maersk Line kamp til stregen. Alligevel kan en fusion på kort sigt vise sig at være en fordel for Mærsk. Det skriver business.dk.

"I sidste ende bliver det afgørende at have de laveste enhedsomkostninger. Det bliver de rederier, der får det bedste afkast. I den sammenhæng bør det være en fordel at være stor," siger aktieanalytiker i Kaupthing Bank Peter Rothausen til business.dk.

Ifølge Peter Rothausen kan investeringer i IT koste næsten det samme for et stort og et lille rederi, og det vil give det store rederi en fordel, fordi udgiften forenklet sagt kan fordeles på flere containere.

Fusioner kan også være med til at lette konkurrencepresset.

"I det aktuelle containermarked kan man godt argumenter for, at konsolidering modtages med kyshånd, fordi det måske kan gøre konkurrencen lidt mindre intensiv", siger aktieanalytiker Jacob Pedersen fra Sydbank.
