CMA-CGM bestiller tre 20.600 TEU skibe

Hanjin Heavy Industries har afsluttet en ordre på tre 20.600-TEU containerskibe fra CMA CGM. De tre containerskibe vil blive bygget på den sydkoreanske skibsbyggers værft i Filippinerne til levering i tredje kvartal af 2017. CMA CGM og Hanjin indgik en hensigtserklæring om de tre skibe i midten af marts.

Der er ikke offentliggjort detaljer om prisen, men det menes, at Hanjin vil være billigere end konkurrenterne, med en pris på omkring 145 millioner for hvert skib, da skibene ikke bliver bygget i Sydkorea.

CMA CGM er det tredje containerrederi, der kontraherer skibe på mere end 20.000 TEU, efter Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) og Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL).

MOL, der var først til at bestille, betalte 155 millioner dollar for hvert af sine fire 20.150 TEU skibe hos Samsung Heavy Industries, mens OOCL betalt 158,6 millioner dollar for hvert af seks skibe på 21.100 TEU fra samme værft.
