Ny containerrute fra Skagen indviet

Et containerskib fra rederiet MSC anløb i weekenden Skagen, hvor havnen fremover vil få fast besøg en gang om ugen. Den nye rute vil skabe mulighed for mere effektiv transport af gods til og fra de nordjyske virksomheder.

Det er Skagen Stevedore - et datterselskab til FF Skagen koncernen - der har etableret og driver containerterminalen. De har investeret i en mobil containerkran, der har en løftekapacitet på op til 125 tons og en svingradius på 51 meter.

”For FF Skagen betyder containerterminalen, at vi kan styrke planlægningen af vores produktion og afskibning af vores egne produkter, som betyder en bedre service over for vores kunder i hele verden. Samtidig ser vi i Skagen Stevedore et forretningspotentiale i terminalen, som tilbyder en global transportløsning for virksomheder i den nordlige del af Danmark,” siger Sales Manager ved FF Skagen Thomas Fisker Hansen.

Den nye containerrute er opstartet på det eksisterende havneareal og vil blive flyttet til det nye areal, når etape 3 er realiseret. Etape 3 indebærer blandt andet en udvidelse af havnearealet på ca. 190.000 m2 og 930 m nyt kajareal. Det nye areal forventes at stå klar til udnyttelse i løbet af 2020.

”Containerruten er en vigtig, økonomisk hjørnesten for den nye havneudvidelse etape 3, så vi er meget glade for at kunne byde MSC velkommen”, siger Willy B. Hansen, adm. direktør Skagen Havn.

Hidtil har nordjyske virksomheder skulle sende deres gods til Århus for at få det afskibet med MSC’s containerskibe.
