Offshore industrien skal udlede mindre CO2

Det store franske olieselskab Total, der har overtaget de tidligere aktiviteter i Maersk Oil, vil nu sammen med en gruppe partnere undersøge mulighederne for, at drive offshore-produktionen af olie og gas med grøn energi fra vind- og bølgeenergi samt brint.

Innovationsprojektet

med det mundrette navn O/G Decarb, vil undersøge mulighederne for at opsætte en kombination af vindmølle- og bølgeteknologi på et flydende fundament for at lagre vind- og bølgeenergi, som via elektrolyse kan omdanne elektricitet til brint:

”Det er et spændende og innovativt projekt, som Total støtter, fordi det har potentiale til at løse en af udfordringerne ved at elektrificere produktionsplatforme med havvind produceret i nærheden af platformen”, siger Ole Hansen, Head of Development, Business & JV Management i Total E&P Danmark;

”Ved at undersøge hvordan bølge- og vindenergi kan omdannes til brint, kan studiet være med til at skabe en pålidelig grøn energiforsyning til platformene, som kan bruges på dage uden vind”, Ole Hansen.

Ud over Total deltager Floating Power Plant A/S, Danish Hydrocarbon Research and Technology Centre, DTU Vind, Hydrogen Valley, Dansk Gasteknisk Center og TechnipFMC i projektet, der faciliteres af Energy Innovation Cluster og er støttet af EU's Regionalfond.

Udover at sikre produktionsplatformen adgang til en stabil, vedvarende energikilde, skal projektet også undersøge muligheden for at integrere eventuel overproduktion af brint i den gas, som sendes til land.

”Kan vi reducere klimaaftrykket fra den energiintensive olie- og gasproduktion og samtidig integrere en større andel af brint i den producerede naturgas, så kommer vi nærmere en klimaneutral energiproduktion på havet. Derfor er det nye innovationsprojekt relevant for Danmark”, siger Glenda Napier, CEO i Energy Innovation Cluster.

Projektet løber frem til udgangen af 2020.
