DFDS lukker rejsebureau i Lithauen

22 år efter åbningen er det nu slut for DFDS´s rejsebureau Krantas Travel i Lithauen. Det er Covid-19 pandemien, der har fjernet grundlaget for bureauet, der har 27 ansatte og kontorer i tre byer i landet, skriver DFDS på sin hjemmeside.

"Vi har forsøgt at finde en ny ejer til bureauet, men rejsemarkedet er så påvirket af Covid-19 og de ændrede rejsemønstre, at det har været umuligt,” siger Anders Refsgaard der er VP og chef for rederiets færgedivision Baltic.

Krantas Travel startede som et lille bureau i 1998, men er siden vokset til at beskæftige 27 medarbejdere på kontorer i landets tre største byer, Vilnius, Kaunas og Klaipeda. De mister nu alle deres arbejde.

DFDS meddelte mandag, at rederiet vil fyre i alt 650 medarbejdere, heraf 200 i Danmark, for at tilpasse rederiet til de ændrede markedsvilkår som følge af Covid-19 pandemien.
