Det kører på skinner for Maersk

Der er andre veje end vandvejen også for Maersk, der forleden tog i mod det første godstog på selskabets nyåbnede rute mellem Kina og Georgiens hovedstad,Tbilisi, der er etableret specifikt til georgisk import, skriver Maersk i en pressemeddelelse.

“Vi har etableret denne service specielt for georgiske kunder, og vi planlægger at udvikle godstogsløsninger itl hele den kaukasiske region,” siger Irakli Danelia, der er georgisk kommerciel repræsentant for A. P. Møller - Maersk.

Det første godstog på ruten forlod Xi´an i Kina den 10. september og ankom til Tbilisi den 4. oktober med 41 containere.

"Vi ser en stigende efterspørgsel efter denne omkostningseffektive, miljøvenlige transportform, især under COVID-19-pandemien, som hjælper vores kunder til at optimere deres forsyningskæder med fleksible logistikløsninger”, siger Nora Lin, der er chef for logistikprodukter hos Mærsk i Kina.
