Copenhagen Merchants udvider i Aarhus

Handels- og logistikvirksomheden Copenhagen Merchants har lejet et areal på ca. 14.000 kvm. på Omniterminalen på Aarhus Havn, hvor den vil opføre 4.000 kvm. nye pakhuse til bulkprodukter. Byggeriet skal stå færdig i sommeren næste år.

Copenhagen Merchants har i forvejen aktiviteter på havnen i Aarhus i kraft af, at virksomheden siden 2013 har ejet Aarhus Bulk Terminal sammen med Fredericia Shipping. Men med de nye aktiviteter på Omniterminalen opstår nye forretningsmuligheder.

”Den nye placering giver os mulighed for at håndtere gods fra større skibe i forhold til, hvor vi ligger på havnen i dag. Derfor er det oplagt for os at udvide vores aktiviteter i Aarhus, således vi opnår endnu mere kritisk masse ift. distribution i Danmark” fortæller Simon Rodian Christensen.

De nyopførte pakhuse skal primært anvendes til træpiller, som Copenhagen Merhants sælger til både distributører og kraftværker. Men Simon Rodian Christensen understreger, at pakhusene naturligvis også kan bruges til andre produkter.
