Brint-drift på Limfjorden skal undersøges

Et nyt projekt skal undersøge, hvordan nogle af færgerne, der sejler på Limfjorden, kan ombygges til at sejle på brint, og derved omstilles til grønne drivmidler. Bag initiativet står Skive, Morsø og Thisted kommuner sammen med teknologileverandører.

Det skal nu undersøges, om Feggesund kan ombygges til brintdrift..

”Vi finder det særdeles interessant, da det taler direkte ind i en cirkulær, bæredygtig og økonomisk tankegang, som vi tillægger stor værdi i det nordvestjyske”, siger Peder Christian Kirkegaard, Borgmester i Skive Kommune om projektet, der nu skal undersøge, om Fursund færgen, Mjølner Fur, og Feggesund færgen, Feggesund, kan opbygges til at sejle på brint.

Og her er det en fordel med ensartet design. ”Vi har altid tilstræbt et stort sammenfald i designet på de små danske indenrigsfærger med det klare formål at opnå markante fordele i driften. Disse foreløbige 12 danske standard færgedesigns og de erfaringer, vi får i dette projekt, kan overføres til mange andre overfarter, såvel indenrigs som udenrigs,”

siger Ulrik Tander, Senior Skibsingeniør fra OSK-ShipTech A/S, som i projektet står for implementeringen af gasreglerne på de to færger.

Der er på nuværende tidspunkt ikke nogen færger i verden, der sejler med brint som drivmiddel, men brint ventes at få en central placering som et af fremtidens nul-udledende brændstoffer.

Partnerkredsen bag projektet På Brint over Fjorden består af Morsø Kommune, færgen ”Feggesund” (hvoraf Thisted Kommune har et medejerskab), Skive Kommune, færgen ”Sleipner Fur”, Ballard Power Systems, Danske Maritime, Everfuel, Green Hub Denmark, OSK-Shiptech og Dansk Energirådgivning.
