APM Terminals Kalundborg klar til brug

Så er den nye containerterminal i Kalundborg klar til at tage imod de første skibe. Havnen åbnede officielt mandag, og vil fremover blive anløbet af to feederskibe om ugen. Den nye terminal har fra start en kapacitet på 50.000 containere om året.

“Vi er glade for at kunne åbne den nye terminal så hurtigt, og ser frem til at vækste havnen i samarbejde med alle rederier, og danske og internationale virksomheder”, siger Dennis Olesen, Managing Director Nordics hos APM Terminals.

Den nye terminal er 100 procent ejet af APM Terminals, og strækker sig over 50.000 kvadratmeter på vestsiden af Kalundborg Havn. Kajen har en længde på 500 meter, og bassinet en dybde på 15 meter.

Terminalen er udstyret med to store mobilkraner, hver med en kapacitet på 100 tons. En tredje kran ankommer i maj, og har en kapacitet på 150 tons.
