Norge investerer 45 mia. kr. i nye ubåde

Norge er gået sammen med Tyskland om at udvikle og bygge seks ubåde, hvoraf fire tilgår den norske flåde, mens to kommer til at sejle under tysk flag. I Norge vil de fire ubåde, når de leveres fra 2029, erstatte den nuværende Ula-klasse som tæller seks ubåde, der er godt 30 år gamle.

De nye ubåde af typen 212 Common Design bygges af tyske ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, mens vedligeholdelsen af såvel de norske som de tyske ubåde primært vil foregå i Norge.

Det er planen at Norge modtager de to første ubåde i serien, mens Tyskland får nummer tre og seks.
