Fortsat mangel: Hapag-Lloyd investerer igen

Den voldsomme vækst i efterspørgslen og forsinkelser i transport-kæderne har ført til et næsten umætteligt behov for containere. Det får nu Hapag-Lloyd til at investere i yderligere 60.000 nye containere. Dermed har det tyske rederi i år bestilt i alt 210.000 containere.

Hapag-Lloyd afgav i april en ordre på 150.000 containere i Kina og vil modtage de første af dem i juli. Nu udvides investeringen så igen.

“Efterspørgslen fortsætter med at være meget høj og udbuddet af containere er fortsat en af vores industris største udfordringer og kræver vores fulde opmærksomhed,” siger Rolf Habben Jansen, CEO i Hapag-Lloyd.

“For at imødegå manglen på containere - men som det vigtigste for at kunne tilbyde vores kunder en bedre service - har vi gentagne gange investeret i vores containerflåde siden pandemiens start,” tilføjer han.
