Danske fregatter får indonesiske kusiner

Den britiske producent af militært udstyr Babcock, har solgt designet til deres Arrowhead 140 fregat - der er basseret på de danske fregatter af Iver Huitfeldt-klassen - til Indonesien, der vil bygges to fregatter af denne type.

Salget er endnu en sejr for det danske fregatdesign, der i sin tid blev udviklet i et samarbejde mellem Odense Maritime Technology og Forsvaret. De fem danske fregatter er bygget på Lindøværftet over stort set samme læst.

I Storbritannien er man gået i gang med at bygge tilsvarende fregatter, her under navnet Type 31 fregat, mens Polen fortsat overvejer om de også vil bygge deres to nye fregatter af Miecznik-klasse, baseret på den danske formel.

Ud over at være et velafprøvet, er det oprindeligt danske design også blandt de billigste på markedet.
