APM Terminals investerer mio. i Barcelona

Det A.P. Møller - Maersk ejede APM Terminals har i de seneste måneder investeret 47 mio. euro - 350 mio. kr. - i en lang række forbedringer i sit anlæg i Barcelona. Nye kraner skal bl.a. sikre, at APM Terminals kan håndtere de nye mega-containerskibe med 23 containerrækker på tværs.

APM Terminals i Barcelona er blevet opgraderet for 350 mio. kr..

“De nylige investeringer er en del af APM Terminals strategi om at modernisere og øge udstyrets kapacitet og produktivitet, ligesom de skal forbedrer sikkerheden i Barcelona terminalen,” siger Narcis Pavón, der er direktør for APM Terminals i byen.

“Vi har fornyet vores engagement i Barcelonas havn og udstyret os med den nyeste teknologi, der er nødvendig for at servicere de mest moderne containerskibe, der går ind i den catalanske hovedstad,” siger han.

Det skal to nye ship-to-shore kraner hjælpe med. De har en løftekapacitet på 100 tons og kan nå ud over et containerskib med 23 rækker containere på tværs.

Derudover har APM Terminals bl.a. investeret i en udvidelse på 31 pct. af kapaciteten til kølecontainere, ligesom den elektriske kapacitet er øget, hvilket fører til en årlig reduktion af CO2 udledningen på 600 tons.

Endelig har havnen etableret track-and-trace, der gør det muligt for kunderne at følge såvel skibes som containernes bevægelser online.
