Syv besætningsmedlemmer kidnappet

Et græsk feeder containerskib er rapporteret angrebet af pirater ud for Gabon i Vestafrika, der har kidnappet syv besætningsmedlemmer. Ifølge endnu ubekræftede kilder drejer det sig om det 957 teu store MSC Talia F, der ifølge Clarksons er ejet af Technomar Shipping.

Rapporter indikerer, at det portugisisk-flagede skib blev bordet af pirater tidligt søndag omkring 150 km. ud for Libreville i Gabon, ifølge Dryad Global.

Skibet, der sejler med en 17 mand stor besætning, menes at have været på vej fra Lomé i Togo til Libreville, da det blev angrebet.

“Dette er den første hændelsen inden for dette område i 2020. I 2019 var der fire registrerede hændelser i havnen i Libreville og en række hændelser ved ankerpladsen Owendo. En af disse resulterede i kidnapningen af fire kinesiske fiskere og besætningen fra et skib på vej fra Douala i Cameroun til Libreville,” oplyser Dryad.
