EU vil investere 5.900 mia. kr. i havvind

EU vil gennemføre en massiv udbygning af havvind i bestræbelserne på at at blive det første klima-neutrale kontinent i verden. Kapaciteten skal udbygges fra de nuværende 12 GW til enorme 300 GW i 2050, skriver Bloomberg.

EU Kommissionen diskuterede onsdag et roadmap, der skal føre frem til den enorme kapacitet fra havvind, der altså vil kræve investeringer på ikke mindre end 5.900 mia. kr. frem mod 2050.

“I betragtning af det lange indløb på op til 10 år, der kræves for bæredygtige offshore projekter, er det nu tiden til at sætte den strategiske retning og vise vejen til at komme derhen,” skriver Kommissionen ifølge Bloomberg i dokumentet.

Kommissionen ønsker at bruge den etablere 750 mio. euro store corona-fond til at hjælpe med at anspore til investeringer i sektoren. Omkring to tredjedele af det nødvendige beløb til udbygningen skal bruges for at sikre den nødvendige grid-infrastruktur.

EU´s første delmål er at nå 60 GW i 2030.
