Seadrill vil af med gæld på 4,8 mia. dollar

Det nødlidende norske Seadrill offshore selskab foreslår overfor, at gæld for 4,8 mia. dollar afskrives. Det vil betyde, at låntagerne ejer 99 pct. af selskabet, mens aktionærerne beholder 1 pct. Forslaget er fremkommet overfor konkurs-retten i Texas.

Ifølge den norske Finansavisen vil forslaget betyde, at gælden reduceres med mere end 86,5 pct til 750 mio. dollar. Som en del af en sådan handel foreslår Seadrill også, at der indskydes 300 mio. dollar i ny kapital. Selskabets hidtidige storaktionær er den norske shipping-milliardær, John Fredriksen.

Selskabet har kæmpet med en restrukturering i månedsvis.
