Stor koalition klager over Lynetteholmen

17 organisationer fra Østersølandene med mere end 1,5 millioner medlemmer går nu til EU for at få stoppet Lynetteholmens indvirkning på vandgennemstrømningen til Østersøen. En vurdering viser, at byggeriet kan blokere vandgennemstrømningen med op til 0,5 pct.

Det lyder ikke af meget, men den nedsatte vandgennemstrømning kan ifølge koalitionen af organisationer få store negative konsekvenser for havmilijøet i Østersøen.

I henvendelsen opfordrer de underskrivende organisationer til, at projektet ændres for at sikre en nul-løsning for saltvandsgennemstrømningen til Østersøen, at der gennemføres en ny høring blandt alle Østersølandene, og at projektet sættes på pause, indtil en sådan høring har fundet sted.

Organisationerne håber, at sagen gennem denne anmodning vil blive fremmet og rejst i de relevante internationale fora og over for den danske regering.

“At blokere for vandgennemstrømningen i Øresund kan få store konsekvenser for økosystemerne i Østersøen. Derfor er det bydende nødvendigt, at regeringen gennemfører en høring af de berørte lande, inden projektet fortsættes. Tiden er imod os, fordi arbejdet med projektets fase 1 fortsættes, og hvis ikke projektet bremses nu, så kan det snart være for sent.”, udtaler Frederik Sandby, sekretariatsleder i foreningen Klimabevægelsen i Danmark og initiativtager til koalitionen sammen med Danmarks Naturfredningsforening og Coalition Clean Baltic.
