A2SEA gets major British contract
SHIPPING: The Danish offshore shipping company A2SEA has signed a contract with Fluor Limited on the construction of a series of windmill parks off the Eastern coast of Britain. A2SEA will use the jack-up rig Sea Jack for the assignment.
Sea Jack is built to hold three complete 3.6 MW windmills onboard on each trip. The windmill parks are part of the project Greater Gobbard, which is due to start in spring 2010. The Great Yarmouth Eastern Port will be the landing port.
Sea Jack has been used in the construction of several windmill parks and is currently in use on Horns Reef 2 out off the city of Esbjerg. On top of the Sea Jack, A2SEA has trhee other installation vessels - Sea Power, Sea Energy and Sea Worker.
