Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm
OFFSHORE: Construction of Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm, the Anholt Offshore Wind Farm, has been officially marked by the departure of a monopile from Grenaa port. The monopiles are since installed from the installation vessel Svanen.
"The construction of one of the world's giant offshore wind farms is a big step for Denmark, and a big step on the road to realizing the ambitions of a society based 100 percent on sustainable energy", the Danish Minister for Climate, Energy and Building, Martin Lidegaard said in a videorecorded statement.
Following the speeches, a monopile was shipped to mark the start of construction. Unofficially, the first monopile was installed on 31 December last year, and a further two piles have been installed since then from the installation vessel Svanen.
