Police is investigating Torm
SHIPPING: By request of the Danish FSA, the police are investigating whether Torm violated information obligations during the sale of the dry cargo ship Torm Marlene in April 2008. Torm refuses to have done anything wrong.
"It is Torm's understanding that the shipping company has not violated its information obligations and that Torm has followed the same practice for the publication of the sale of Torm Marlene, which Torm has followed for several years and which is followed by leading actors of the shipping business both here and abroad", writes Torm in a message to OMX CPH.
The FSA has brought the matter up with the Danish Securities Council, and Torm has then been informed that the Securities Council has decided to begin police investigation.
"Torm has already reported its view of the matter to the FSA and is surprised by the notification, but will be at the police's disposal during the investigation", writes Torm in the message.
Torm does not wish to give comments as long as the issue is pending.
